Lead Female Roles:

Sarah Cratchit

Sarah is the wife to Bob and the mother of several children.  She is absolutely in love with Bob and does everything she can to make their house a home. Though they don’t have much, the love they share holds them and their family together. Often direct and straight to the point.

Female, lead, many lines, many emotions. Strong ability to sing. Strong ability to lead and work well with children. 


Belinda Cratchit:

Belinda is the eldest of the Cratchit children. She can be mouthy and voices her opinion. She does not like Mr. Scrooge and does not like her Father working for him.


Female, supporting, a few lines. Ability to speak and project clearly. 

Aunt Grace

Aunt Grace is the sister of Sarah. She is loud, obnoxious, eccentric and off the wall. She enjoys getting on Bobs nerves and picking on the kids. She is the black sheep in the family and is the center of attention. 

Female, supporting, many lines. Strong comedic timing, ability to speak and project clearly. Some ability to sing and stay in tune. 


Elizabeth

Elizabeth is the wife of Fred. She is absolutely in love with Fred and excited to marry Fred. She is gentle, warm and compassionate but can be a little feisty at times. Pregnant with her first child.

Female, supporting, a few lines. Strong ability to sing. Ability to project and speak clearly


Cratchit’s Daughters

Anna, Susan and Victoria. Female, supporting, a few lines. Ability to memorize lines and project and speak clearly. 


Tiny Tim

Tiny Tim is the youngest in the Cratchit family.  He is a Daddy’s boy! Tim has a disease that if left untreated can be fatal; yet Tim remains full of faith that he will be completely healed!

Young boy or girl, lead character (ages 5-9) small size, ability to memorize several lines, clear, strong speaking voice. Will need to hobble with a cane.


Ghost of C’mas Past

The Ghost of Christmas Past is the first ghost sent to visit Mr. Scrooge. She is loving and cheerful; sweet and innocent. She is sent to show Mr. Scrooge key moments in his past effecting his everyday life. 

Female, lead, early teen/preteen, petite/moderate stature, a few lines. Ability to speak and project clearly. Some ability to sing. Not afraid of heights.


Ghost of C’mas Present: The Ghost of Christmas Past is the second ghost to visit Mr. Scrooge. This ghost is loud and boisterous. Full of life and the true spirit of Christmas.  This ghost finds joy and laughter in every moment and is sent to show Mr. Scrooge what is happening right before his eyes in the now. 

Male or female, lead, several lines, must have ability to remember many cues. Strong voice and ability to sing and laugh repeatedly. Strong body movement, not afraid of heights. 


Rebecca

Rebecca is the wife of Vincent She loves Vincent tremendously and is quite feisty and out spoken. 

Female, supporting, a few lines. Ability to project and speak clearly. 


Mature Belle

Mature Belle has moved on since she called off the engagement with Ebenezer. She has not loved another man since then.  She is kind, tenderhearted and compassionate.


Female, supporting, a few lines. Ability to speak and project clearly. 

Young Adult Belle

Belle is currently engaged to Ebenezer. She is head over heels in love with him but is troubled that he spends more time at work than with her. 

Female, supporting, a few lines. Ability to speak and project clearly.


Young Belle

Preteen Belle is a close friend of Young Scrooge and has a crush on him. She’s a kind and loving girl Age 8-12. 

Female, supporting, a few lines. Ability to memorize lines and project and speak clearly. 


Fannie

Fannie is Scrooge’s younger sister.  Age 7-10 Very kind with a gentle heart. Loves her brother unconditionally. 

Young female, supporting, a few lines. Ability to memorize lines and speak and project clearly. 


The Maid & The Cook    Both work very hard for Mr. Scrooge. They cook and clean for him and are very opinionated. They often argue amongst each other and fight to be better than the other. 

Female, supporting, a few lines. Strong comedic timing, ability to speak and project clearly. Strong ability to sing and dance.  Bilingual is a plus.


Agnes

Volunteer in Operation Care and looks for donations to support her organization. Works with Bernard to solicit funds from Ebenezer Scrooge.


Town Crier

The Town Crier is responsible for eavesdropping throughout the city of London and sharing that news with any open ear! The Town Crier loves stirring up trouble for the Constable. Full of life, energy and excitement. 

Male or female, lead, many lines, many emotions.  Strong voice and ability to speak and project clearly and sing.


Mary Bothelby

Mary is the lowest of the beggars. She and her husband, David, have reached rock bottom and are trying to do everything they can to provide for their only child. 

Female, supporting. Strong ability to sing with great emotion. 


Sellers

Christmas tree seller, fruit/bread seller, etc.

Male or female, supporting, a few lines. Able to speak and project clearly.

Lady Secondary Roles:

VOCAL

Ghostly ensemble (selected team of strong a capella vocalists who can harmonize well)


Male or female, supporting. Very strong ability to sing.

DANCERS

Icicle dancers, snowflake dancers, dancing ensemble
